Get ready for an in-person mental health workshop where Muslims from all walks of life and backgrounds can learn about the importance of mental health. Often, many adults and children alike focus on their physical health, i.e eating better, staying active, and so on. There is often a stigma associated with seeking help and support for one's emotional and social well-being, but it doesn't have to be this way. + What does Islam say about mental health? We discuss the importance of spirituality, and also seeking treatment. Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) has said, "Tie your camel first, and then put your trust in Allah." + Coping mechanisms for anxiety and stress. There are various reasons and triggers for anxiety and stress, including immigrating to a new country with a new culture, a new way of life. There is also an increase in hate crimes against Muslims and Islamophobia within the US. + The power of collective healing when dealing with collective trauma, and how we can remain steadfast and strong with what's happening in other parts of the world, namely Palestine.
